Metro Atlanta Kids and KiDsGyM USA Flip for “Let’s Move!” During Local Olympic Day Celebration

Annual Event Marks 26th Anniversary of Nationally Recognized, Local Non-profit’s Work to Develop Generations of Healthy, Active Kids

ATLANTA- More than 150 metro Atlanta children, ages 1 to 12, will show what Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign is all about on May 19, 2012 at the 24th Annual Olympic Day Celebration at Conley Recreation Center in College Park, Georgia.

The annual event celebrates National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and exhibits how KiDsGyM USA® has joined Mrs. Obama to help raise a healthier generation of kids.

KiDsGyM USA®, established as a nonprofit in1986, has helped tens of thousands of metro Atlanta children - many who are at-risk - develop healthy minds, bodies and spirits. These high achievers include luminaries such as Dwight Howard of the NBA Orlando Magic, 2009 and 2010 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and MONICA, popular musical performer and Grammy Award Winning singer.

“We’re very proud to join Mrs. Obama’s campaign and equally proud of the achievements of all our young participants. Since we began, we’ve helped many children stay fit, and have seen them grow to be healthy and successful adults,” said Stephanie Campbell, KiDsGyM USA® Executive Director. “What’s more, these kids envision themselves as a success. That’s how they get there.”

The annual sports event embodies the courage and determination of local youth who have prepared all year for this friendly competition, where everyone wins. Families, friends, and community residents throughout Atlanta are expected to attend, support, and cheer on the next generation of fit and healthy high achievers.
